International Qualifying Umpires Course - 2019
Brought to you by the Counties Manukau Region for the Oceania Taekwon-Do Federation

The course is also an excellent opportunity for all ITF Taekwon-Do Australia 1st Gups and above to attend an international umpires course - whether you have attended any in the past or not. Attending will automatically qualify you as a B Grade Umpire within Australia*. 

WANTED: Volunteers for the IUC

We need some students to help us at the IUC, by doing patterns, sparring and pre-arranged sparring.

Patterns, Sparring and Pre-arranged athletes have the opportunity to practice in front of international Umpires and get valuable feedback. You would be required to be that the venue on Sunday 24th February at 9am. Bring all the normal safety equipment including head gear if you have it.

We welcome Master Alberto Katz (Chairman of ITF Umpires committee) and Master Gordon Wallace (Member of the ITF Umpire Committee)

International Umpires Course
Oceania Qualifying Umpire Course
(12 hour course)

This course is the required qualification for umpires to be eligible to official at all ITF international events over the next 2 years including: ITF World Champs Germany 2019 and the ITF World Cup Slovenia 2020. Anyone wishing to umpire at any of these tournaments must attend this course.

The course is also an excellent opportunity for all ITKD 1st Gups and above to attend an international umpires course - whether you have attended any in the past or not. Attending will automatically qualify you as a B Grade Umpire within NZ.


The course is open to all 2nd gup and above, 16 years and over.

Cost: (NZ$)180*
Masters (NZ and Overseas): NZ$130

Payment:
ITKD Members please pay into ITFNZ Counties Manukau Taekwon-Do Inc: ASB 123032 0214197-02. Please include the reference IUC and your Surname.

Dress: Dobok. (Additionally students may wear track shoes and track jackets when sitting down)

Arrive: 8.00 am for an 8.30 am start

Certification:
Participants receive a certificate of completion*

Please review: ITF Tournament Rules and Regulations


*In addition to the certificate of completion, participants are then eligible to apply for an ITF Umpires Certificate. Cost for this additional certification is approx NZ$65 for B Grade and NZ$125 for A Grade.) This certification is only required if you wish to umpire at international events. The prices are subject to change.

The criteria for "A" class Umpire is: 
 
a) Minimum age of 25 years. 
b) 4th degree holder or above. 
c) To have the International Instructors Certificate.
d) To have an ITF  "B" Class Umpire certificate.
e) To have a minimum of three (3) years regular, domestic, umpiring experience. 
f) To participate in an authorised ITF Umpire Course and succeed in obtaining the official "A" Class Umpire certificate. 
g) To officiate regularly at tournaments within the ITF Jurisdiction.  

The criteria for "B" Class Umpire is: 
 
a) Minimum age of 21 years. 
b) 2nd degree holder or above. 
c) To participate in an authorised ITF Umpire course and succeed in obtaining the official "B" 
class Umpire Certificate. 
d) To officiate at tournaments within the ITF Jurisdiction.
