ITF WORLD CHAMPIONSHIPS 24-29 APRIL 2019 GERMANY

NEW ZEALAND TEAM IMPORTANT INFORMATION

ELIGIBILITY
Open for any registered ITFNZ Black Belt or 1st Gup grading to 1st Dan in December 2018. Your ITFNZ Registration must be current.

TRIAL
There will not be a trial. Rather there will be compulsory High Performance Training camps run by the High Performance Management team, NZ Coaching Team and the HP Advisory Board from October 2018 through to April 2019.  The official NZ Team to travel to Germany will be a selection process made over this period with the Official Team Member announcement made following the January 18/19th, 2019 High Performance Camp.

HIGH PERFORMANCE TRAINING CAMPS:
ALL NATIONAL TRAINING CAMPS ARE CLOSED.  ONLY ATHLETES, OFFICIAL NZ COACHES, INVITED COACHES, MANAGEMENT AND OFFICIALS ARE ALLOWED. NO SPECTATORS (with the exception of the final camp in April 2019).

These will be held in both Auckland and Palmerston North facilities.

Auckland: Held at the Rosehill College Gym with Accommodation at the Pulman Lodge
Palmerston North: Held at the SCTA Centre with Accommodation at the Villas.

Shared/gender and age appropriate rooms. Meals provided (with the exception of Friday night dinner and Saturday morning breakfast if required to stay Friday night).   All athletes to stay together with coaches and management at the Pulman Lodge in Auckland unless otherwise stated.

Dates and Times for Compulsory High Performance Camps:

Saturday Start time: 10am/Saturday Finish time: 5.00pm
Sunday Start Time: 8.30am/Sunday Finish Time: 3.30pm

October 20/21 – Auckland
November 17/18 – Auckland
December 8/9 – Palmerston North
January 18/19 – Waiouru Army Camp (to be confirmed)
February 9/10 – Auckland
March 9/10 – Palmerston North
April 6/7 – Auckland (final camp and distribution of NZ Team Uniform etc)

Camp Costs: to be determined but will be approximately $125.00 per person.

 

 

 

REGIONAL TRAINING CAMPS: (World Champs Preparation  – COMPULSARY ATTENDANCE.
Commencing from Sunday 14 October 2018

Auckland: Venue MMC.
Head Coach: Miss Kara Timmer
(Sundays 9am-11am/ Wednesday 7pm-9pm )
Palmerston North: Venue SCTA Centre
Head Coach: Mr Lawrence Mantjika
(Saturdays 9am-12pm)
Wellington: Venue TBA
Head Coach: Master Gray Patterson and Mrs Suzanne Patterson
Time: TBA

Regional Training Cost, Per Athlete, to be invoiced and paid in full prior to commencement:
$300.00 per person total duration.

If you are unable to commit to the compulsory training camps and regional trainings you should not apply to trial.  Attendance records will be taken and failure to comply with the expectation of a minimum of 85% attendance without reasonable explanation and permission given via the Head Coach, will result in making you ineligible for selection.
Illness and Injury must be reported and you must advise the Head coach prior to the training if you are unable to attend due to this reason.  There is however still an expectation that you will attend training even to observe if injured and not contagious!  Training outside of the above stated, does not form part of the world championships training requirements.  These should not replace your club training commitments.

All selected athletes, coaches and management MUST depart and arrive in Munich together with no exceptions.  Family members and supporters may travel with the official team.  Please do NOT make plans to depart earlier this will not be allowed.  You are free to travel onwards with friends and family after the tournament from April 29. Note that airfare price may change if you deviate from the above return flights.

All athletes travel will be arranged via team management and invoiced then paid to the HP Account with the exception of onward travel, post tournament. This will be done via STA Travel.  Supporters may choose to make their own bookings and arrangements outside of ITKD if they wish.

Passports must have at least 6 months validity prior to the date of travel.  If you are not a NZ passport holder, you may require a visa. We will discuss this once the team if selected.

Domestic air travel for HP camps and flights needed in conjunction with the international air travel is not included in the above estimate and will be in addition to these.

Please note that these costs are estimates and are given out now so you can establish affordability.  Note that costs may change due to currency fluctuations. We will confirm costs as soon as we can.
