Master McPhail was one of the special guest umpires invited to officiate a Tri-Nations Tournament in Vietnam on Saturday 20th March 2010. Along with Master Ung Kim Lan from Germany, Mr Peter Lue and a Vietnamese umpire, Master McPhail judged a teams competition between Vietnam, Jamaica and Poland. Mr Clive Chin from Jamacia was the centre referee.

The tournament was organised by Mr Mariusz Steckiewicz, who is employed by the ITF to teach ITF Taekwon-Do in Vietnam. The day after the tournament a special memorial service was held in memory of Grand Master Tran Trieu Quan. This was timed to coincide with the official service in Canada held on the 21t March 2010. Master Davidson attended the service in Canada representing ITFNZ.
