Okay - this is what we know...
Anyone wanting to grade for 1st dan or higher in the Dunedin area, must subject themselves to a torturous weekend of PAIN - under the merciless control of Mr Evans and Mr Pearson. Other black belts who have been through the weekend are also invited along to inflict some pain themselves.
If they survive - they are then permitted to test for their grading.
Apparently the weekend begins by driving in to a remote part of the mountains, where the instructors meditate - and try and come up with horrible ideas for the two days ahead.
