Unrequested Double Gradings

Double gradings are awarded to those who show abilities far beyond their grade. There are students who have a real flair for TKD, and performed extra well at grading. The examiner will only award a double grading with the consent of the instructor, making sure their attitude is 100%. Those awarded an unrequested double grading have their membership cards marked 'DOUBLE'.

Requested Double Grading

A double grading can be requested by the instructor if a student misses a grading due to a genuine reason such as sickness, injury or travel. If the instructor is confident the student would have passed the grading, he/she can begin teaching the next pattern and syllabus, and present them for a double grading next time.

It is not permitted to present a student for a double grading because the student may have missed a grading because they weren't ready or had stopped training. It is only to be used in genuine cases out of the students control.

Reminders

Correct procedure for the start of the grading here

While waiting, students should sit properly and not make any noise... e.g. No calling out out during free sparring or any other time.

Members should stay for the entire grading unless they are specifically allowed to leave - e.g. younger kids groups etc

Black belt certificates from the previous grading may be presented. Those people should be in dobok to receive their certificates. If they are not present, the certificates will be left with the Instructor.

Black belts should be present to help marshal at the grading. It is a black belt's responsibility to turn up and help.
