RULES
The competition is open to all ranks and ages in Sparring and Patterns,
to all Blackbelts in Special Techniques and to Black Belts 18 years
and over in Power.
Black belts can also compete in Team Sparring and Team Patterns.
The two-person Pre-arranged Sparring team members can be any age, any
rank, any sex.
Uniform and Equipment
- It is not necessary to wear the
name of your Country or organistion on the back of the dobok.
- For sparring
mouth guards (and groin guards for men) are compulsory.
- Helmets are Compulsory (and are supplied)
- Sparring competitors should wear red or blue boots & gloves
according to their corner - otherwise black is acceptable.
Events
- Individual events (sparring, patterns, special
techniques and power)
- Team Patterns and Team Sparring
- Pre-Arranged Sparring.
Patterns - will be divided into Male/Female
and Junior/Senior and ITF belt divisions where numbers permit.
Sparring
- will be divided into Male/Female and Junior/Senior and ITF weight
divisions where numbers permit.
Peewee (under 11 years) and Intermediate (11-14 years) divisions will
be added where numbers permit.
Special Techniques - will be divided into
Male/Female and Junior/Senior black belt divisions where numbers permit.
Power
- will be divided into male / female adult black belt divisions.
Pre-arranged
Sparring: No limt to the number of 2 person teams that can enter from
each Country.
The Team Events - (A six person team competing in both Patterns
and Sparring) are between Countries (or Organisations). Team events are
divided into four sparring and four pattern events (male/female and
adult/junior). Countries (or Organisations) that do not have enough
competitors to enter a team themselves may be permitted to form teams
jointly with other countries (or organisations). Team patterns - 1 optional
pattern only required.
Awards
Gold, Silver and Bronze place winners will receive medals.
There will be eight “Best Overall” Trophies for:
Adult Male Black Belt, Adult Female Black Belt
Adult Male Coloured Belt, Adult Female Coloured Belt
Junior Male Black Belt, Junior Female Black Belt
Junior Male Coloured Belt, Junior Female Coloured Belt.
The organisers reserve the right to merge divisions as required. ITF rules apply with some amendments as seen appropriate by the organisers,
such as those above.
