ITFNZ National Tournament 2007

Hosted by Counties Manukau on 22nd - 23rd September 2007

Venue: ASB Stadium, Auckland

NATIONALS UPDATE NO. 4

New Events

Please note the Junior Power and Pre-Arranged Sparring events will have their debut at this year's National Tournament.

Junior Power (Only for those Juniors 15 years and over). Juniors are to do all the kicks and none of the hand techniques for power, ie: Side Piercing Kick (Jnr Male 4 boards, Jnr Female 2 boards) Turning Kick (Jnr Male 3 boards, Jnr Female 2 boards), Reverse Turning Kick (Jnr Male 2 boards, Jnr Female 1 board).

Two competitors per Region in Junior Power Male and Junior Power Female. Points count towards the Best Team but not best overall individual.

Pre Arranged Sparring
For pre-arranged the points count towards best team but not best individual. Each region may enter one (1) team of two persons.
There is no restriction on the age, rank, or gender of the two team members.

Procedure

  • The two (2) participants follow a prepared scenario that enables them to skillfully exhibit a wide variety of techniques without fear of injury.
  • Pre arranged free sparring shall consist of movements as show in the ITF Encyclopedia, Manuals, CD Rom and as taught in the ITF International Instructor Courses.
  • No protection gear may be worn
  • Duration of one (1) round: minimum 50 seconds ­ maximum 60 seconds
  • Teams shall compete one at a time.
  • The four highest scores will set the 1st, 2nd and two 3rd place winners.
  • In the event of a tie teams will compete once more until the places are decided.

 

Awards Dinner

This will be held at the Tournament venue (ASB Stadium).

As well as the announcement of the ITFNZ National Awards winners, some Black Belt Patterns and Sparring finals will be held during the dinner.

Dinner Tickets will be $35 per person for competitors, officials, friends and family. There will be a few on sale to the general public for $50.

Competition Admittance Tickets

These will be on sale to the general public. Tickets allow admittance to the venue for the whole weekend's competition. Entry to the tournament is by ticket only.

Each Region will receive 4 complimentary tickets for each competitor and official to give away to friends, relatives, colleagues etc.
(More can be made available on request.) We would like the seats to be overflowing with spectators.
