Membership Terms & Conditions
Thank you for your interest in becoming a member of International Taekwon-Do.
International Taekwon-Do has a strong emphasis on the moral aspects of the martial art as reflected in its tenets:
Courtesy, Integrity, Perseverance, Self-control and Indomitable Spirit.
Members are expected to uphold these values inside and outside training as their behaviour reflects on International Taekwon-Do.
On becoming a member of International Taekwon-Do, Members agree to be bound by the Code of Conduct, Rules and Regulations, and these Terms & Conditions of International Taekwon-Do.
Please read the following terms carefully.

• General Terms & Conditions
• Members are required to agree to these Terms & Conditions at the point of purchase of their membership.
• If you are purchasing membership on behalf of a Member, you shall be deemed to be acting with the consent of the Member. You are responsible for ensuring that the Member for whom you are making the purchase agrees to be bound by these Terms & Conditions.
• International Taekwon-Do shall be entitled to refuse an application from, or suspend or cancel the membership of, any Member at its absolute discretion.
• The International Taekwon-Do membership fee will be paid by the Member on an annual basis and is non-refundable.
• The Member’s membership will commence on the date on which it is purchased and automatically expire 12 months thereafter.
• Nothing in these Terms & Conditions guarantees a Member will be entitled to renew their membership. Once expired, all rights and benefits of membership will cease.
• A Member can terminate their membership at any time by informing International Taekwon-Do. No refund of the membership fee (or remainder thereof) will be given in these circumstances.

• International Taekwon-Do reserves the right to re-brand or re-name membership packages at any time.

• Membership is personal to each Member and cannot be transferred to another person or resold under any circumstances.
• Individual membership is only valid when the Member is also registered as a member of an affiliated club.
• If a club is no longer affiliated to International Taekwon-Do (whether due to non- payment of the affiliation fee or the club leadership resigning from International Taekwon-Do or otherwise), then individual memberships registered within that club will also cease and no refund will be provided in such circumstances. The Member can contact International Taekwon-Do and request a transfer of their membership to another International Taekwon-Do affiliated club.
• International Taekwon-Do reserves the right to suspend a Member’s  membership and/or any associated benefits for a period of time, to withdraw its use and such benefits completely and/or to terminate the membership if the Member breaches any of these Terms & Conditions (or if International Taekwon-Do has reasonable grounds to suspect such a breach) or otherwise misuses their membership. International Taekwon-Do shall not be obliged to make any refund to a Member if their Membership and/or any associated benefits are suspended or withdrawn.
• International Taekwon-Do shall not have any liability to a Member in respect of a failure to carry out or delay in carrying out any of International Taekwon-Do’s obligations under these terms & conditions caused by any circumstances outside its reasonable control.
• International Taekwon-Do may, at its discretion, update or revise its membership terms & conditions from time to time. International Taekwon-Do may also, at its discretion, update or revise the Code of Conduct and Rules and Regulations from time to time. Any changes will take effect immediately once they are posted on the International Taekwon-Do website. Members are advised to regularly check the International Taekwon-Do website for such updates (including prior to the renewal of their membership annually).

• It is the Member’s responsibility to keep their personal information up-to-date. The Member can do so by accessing their member profile on the JustGo membership system.

• Privacy

The Member acknowledges that personal information is required to be provided to register for membership to International Taekwon-Do, including the Member’s name, address, email, phone number, date of birth and gender. In registering for membership on the JustGo Membership System, the Member agrees that:

• International Taekwon-Do may collect and use the Member’s personal information for:
• Administering the Member’s membership.
• The general administration of International Taekwon-Do, including in connection with organising and administering Taekwon-Do tournaments in New Zealand.
• statistical analysis and research.
• participant welfare purposes, (including the sharing of such information with their club).
• complying with any of International Taekwon-Do’s legal or regulatory obligations.
• Use in newsletters and other International Taekwon-Do related communications.
• The promotion of International Taekwon-Do or the sport of Taekwon-do generally, including on International Taekwon-Do’s website, social media and networking websites.
• To contact Members via email with relevant news and marketing content where the Member has opted in to receiving such communications
• For the furtherance of the purposes stated above, International Taekwon-Do may share the Member’s personal information (in whole or in part) with third parties including to (i) Sport NZ, NZ Sports Drug Agency or any other similar organisation, and (ii) commercial third parties.
• Personal information including a Member’s name, date of birth and current and past organisation registrations will be shared between clubs for the purposes of registrations and transfers. This does not include information about how the Member may be contacted (and for the avoidance of doubt this contact information can only be accessed by the Member, the organisations they belong to, and International Taekwon-Do).
• a failure to provide the requested personal information means that International Taekwon-Do may be unable to fulfil their request for membership.
• If the Member wishes to obtain confirmation that International Taekwon-Do holds personal information about them and to access that information, or if the Member wishes to request a correction to their personal information they can do so by contacting their club or International Taekwon-Do at [TBC A Member may also amend their personal information associated with your account by updating your account details in the JustGo Membership System.
• personal information provided via the JustGo Membership System is also governed by the JustGo privacy policy, available at https://justgo.com/privacy-policy/.
• Health & Safety

The Member acknowledges that Taekwon-Do is a contact sport and that injuries can occur.   The Member takes it upon themselves the risks arising while participating in International Taekwon-Do- related activities
The Member agrees to:

• Take reasonable care of their own health and safety.
• Take reasonable care that their acts or omissions do not adversely affect the health and safety of other persons.
• Comply, as far as they are reasonably able, with any reasonable instruction that is given by International Taekwon-Do (including instructions given by International Taekwon-Do to comply with its obligations under the Health and Safety at Work Act 2015; and
• Make known any relevant medical and/or dietary information to the club that holds their registration.
• Photo Use Approval

The Member gives permission for their name and/or image to appear on International Taekwon-Do’s website and on other social media or networking websites utilised by International Taekwon-Do including, without limitation, Facebook and Twitter (for avoidance of doubt, other personal information will not appear unless specifically provided for such purpose) for media and promotional purposes connected with International Taekwon-Do.
The Member’s name and/or image may not however be used as a “hero” (i.e. standalone) image for any advertising or promotional material without their written consent and, where required by law, the written consent of a parent or guardian.
The Member may request that their name and/or image be removed for privacy reasons.

• Use of JustGo Membership System

International Taekwon-Do has contracted JustGo to use its membership system software. The Member agrees to comply with JustGo’s User Terms of Use available at https://justgo.com/terms-of-service/.

• Financial Commitment

The Member agrees to pay all fees and costs associated with their participation with International Taekwon-Do and its member clubs as and when they fall due.
