Prior to 2011, opening World Champs ceremonies were usually held part way through the tournament, late in the evening, and they were long! The 2011 team changed all that! The opening ceremony of the 2011 ITF World Champs was held on the first morning of the championships, right before competition got under way. It was short (1 hour) and contained an emotional mix of New Zealand culture and Taekwon-Do demonstrations from local Wellington kids. The footage here was un-covered by Mr Lourantos, hidden in boxes of tapes containing the live stream of the event. The quality of the tape is not great, but still certainly worthy of preserving this important event in ITF history. This video retrieval and editing process was a joint venture between ITFNZInc and TKD Coaching.com |
