Reason 7: webcast the tournament
Why can't everyone watch the World Championships?
How often have you wanted to go to a major event, but
it just couldn't happen? How often have you competed in
a major event, and really wished all your friends and
family back home could see you compete?
Well why can't it happen? These days the internet means
we should all be able to watch the action live!
We plan to webcast every ring!
If we host the 2011 World Championships, we plan to webcast
every ring, so friends and family back home can do exactly
that - watch the action live!
Of course, we will have to update the website in real
time, so you know who is competing where and when.
It may even be possible to have automated updates, to
email you when a bout you want to see is about to happen
- we won't promise that just yet, though, let us look
into it first!
You know we have the web know-how!
ITFNZ Taekwon-Do's website was originally released in
1996, back when many of us had never heard of the internet.
That's eleven year's of experience in this medium! Now
our website is one of the most respected in the martial
arts community - and I am sure you can see why.
Webcasting is more than just a website. We will have
to trial the technology for a couple of National Tournaments
first, so that we have it under control by the time the
World Championships rolls around.
We have the same challenge as everyone else - friends
and family unable to come to our major tournaments. We
will take the tournament into their homes live - via the
internet. Then in 2011, you can enjoy the experience,
too, if you are unlucky enough to be stuck at home during
this spectacular event!!
