WANTED: Volunteers for the IUC Thanks to the volunteers who are helping us at the IUC.

Patterns, Sparring and Pre-arranged athletes please be ready for an 8.30am start, finishing around 11am on Sunday 1st May. Bring all the normal safety equipment including head gear if you have it. Remember the venue is now Rosehill College, Papakura.

Huge thanks to our three IT assistant's who are Phil Moore, Matt Pilcher and Natasha Iotua - who are being trained up on Friday evening 6-8pm and then assisting with the entire course.

We are very pleased to announce that two members of the ITF Umpires Committee will conduct an Official ITF Umpires course in New Zealand in April 2016.

We welcome Master Alberto Katz (Chairman of ITF Umpires committee, Argentina) and Master Kurt Ottesen (Canada).

International Umpires Course
Oceania Qualifying Umpire Course
(12 hour course)

This course is the required qualification for umpires to be eligible to official at all ITF international events over the next 3 years including: ITF World Cup Hungary 2016, ITF World Champs Ireland 2017, ITF World Cup Australia 2018. Anyone wishing to umpire at any of these tournaments must attend this course.

The course is also an excellent opportunity for all ITKD 1st Gups and above to attend an international umpires course - whether you have attended any in the past or not. Attending will automatically qualify you as a B Grade Umpire within NZ.


The course is open to all 1st gups and above, 16 years and over.

ITKD Members 1st Gup to 6th dan: $130
Overseas Participants 1st Gup to 6th dan: $190
Masters (NZ and Overseas): $70

Dress: Dobok. (Additionally students may wear track shoes and track jackets when sitting down)

Certification:
Participants receive a certificate of completion**

*Members of ITKD in New Zealand receive a subsidy due to grants obtained by our national body for NZ members.

**In addition to the certificate of completion, participants are then eligible to apply for an ITF Umpires Certificate. Cost for this additional certification is approx NZ$65 for B Grade and NZ$125 for A Grade.) This certification is only required if you wish to umpire at international events. The prices are as at Nov 2015 and subject to change.

The criteria for "A" class Umpire is: 
 
a) Minimum age of 25 years. 
b) 4th degree holder or above. 
c) To have the International Instructors Certificate.
d) To have an ITF  "B" Class Umpire certificate.
e) To have a minimum of three (3) years regular, domestic, umpiring experience. 
f) To participate in an authorised ITF Umpire Course and succeed in obtaining the official "A" Class Umpire certificate. 
g) To officiate regularly at tournaments within the ITF Jurisdiction.  

The criteria for "B" Class Umpire is: 
 
a) Minimum age of 21 years. 
b) 2nd degree holder or above. 
c) To participate in an authorised ITF Umpire course and succeed in obtaining the official "B" 
class Umpire Certificate. 
d) To officiate at tournaments within the ITF Jurisdiction.

  • 10:30-10:45am Coffee Break
  • 10:45-11:30am. Written Examination
  • 11:30-1:00pm Q&A. Revision. Pending Topics
  • 1:00pm - 1.30 pm Group Photo and Certificate awards.
