Master Joliette Trân, black belt 7th degree, began training in 1981 with her father, Grandmaster Trân Trieu Quan in Canada and assisted him during several international technical seminars. She is twice World Bronze medalist in Individual pattern in 1993 and 2002.
She holds a master’s degree in public health and a license to practice occupational therapy. She teaches Taekwon-Do since 1990 and has broad experience in teaching students of all ages and all levels. She now specializes in teaching Taekwon-Do to people who are over 50 years-old in order to promote healthy aging and continuous learning.
She believes that a martial artist needs to train in all aspects of Taekwon-Do, from technical details in Tuls to speed in sparring or power in breaking. More importantly, she finds that practicing Taekwon-Do contributes to build a strong moral character. She believes that developing Taekwon-Do tenets help us face our everyday challenges and live a happier life.

Women’s Master Class - Tuesday 22nd January 2019
Taekwon-Do as a tool for empowerment.
More and more girls practice Taekwon-Do. They have good skills to perform in the different parts in Taekwon-Do. This martial art can help develop strong feminine people. Master Tran will give some examples, exercices and discuss how their training can help build a strong character.
She will also explore some subjects related to training that can impact health in long-term (nutrition, pelvic health, hormones, bone density).

Getting older and better In Taekwon-Do!
We often hear that getting older in Taekwon-Do can be difficult. We can feel envy at looking at these youngsters jump higher, kick faster and higher than us. It can also be frustrating to realize that recovering from injuries takes longer than before. A body which cumulates years of training can bring great challenges.
The good news is that there are bright sides to getting some experience in life. A look upon what an adult can benefit from an intelligent practice of Taekwon-Do. Physical, cognitive, and emotional cues will be given to make sure to have a safe practice and improve our techniques and efficacy in Taekwon-Do.
Martial art is a journey about learning and improving oneself. Putting the philosophy of Taekwon-Do and its tenets in application help us get better at Taekwon-Do through the years.
