About the IIC

IIC Information

All ITF black belts are invited to the International Instructors Course (IIC) in New Zealand, March 2027.

This course is not just for instructors - it is a training course covering all aspects of ITF Taekwon-Do valuable for all black belts.

Black Belts from outside ITFNZ

We warmly welcome black belts from New Zealand and overseas who are not members of ITFNZ to attend the IIC, regardless of which ITF organisation you belong to. While IICs are normally restricted to members of ITF (Switzerland), we are pleased to announce that this IIC is open to black belts from all ITF organisations.

The ITF requires all members to attend at least one IIC between each grading from 3rd degree and above, and these courses are only held in New Zealand every 4-5 years. So it is necessary to plan ahead and make sure you have this qualification now for your future grading.

ITFNZ instructors - a reminder that attending an IIC extends your Instructor Certification for a further two years. This is an excellent opportunity to extend your qualification.

Injured but would still love to come to the IIC?

Absolutely - we can accommodate you.

If you have an injury or health condition that would make it difficult to participate fully in the IIC, we would still love to have you attend - even if that means taking a step back and learning from the sidelines.

IIC Instructors

The course is taught exclusively by three members of the ITF Technical and Instruction Committee:

Grand Master Paul McPhail - 9th Dan
Grand Master Jurek Jedut - 9th Dan
Master Virginia Dionisi - 8th Dan

Master Virginia Dionisi, 8th Dan ITF

A Special Welcome to Master Virginia Dionisi
For the first time in New Zealand!

We are delighted to welcome Master Virginia Dionisi to New Zealand for this IIC. Master Dionisi is an 8th Dan and a member of the ITF Technical Committee.

A former ITF World Champion and ITF European Champion, she is one of the most accomplished female ITF competitors in Europe, with more than 35 years of Taekwon-Do experience.

Originally from Argentina, Master Dionisi has spent more than 25 years developing Taekwon-Do in Belgium, where she has held senior technical and coaching roles and worked with many successful competitors and instructors. She has also coached the Belgian National Team and has helped develop athletes who have achieved outstanding results at European and World Championships.

This is a fantastic opportunity to train with and learn from one of the leading female figures in ITF Taekwon-Do.
