Counties Manukau Inter-School TKD Championships 2014

Inter-School Championships between Counties Manukau KiwiSport Schools

Venue: Redoubt North School, 47 Diorella Drive, Manukau
Times: 9 am - training and event selections (competitors only), 1 pm Championship begins, spectators welcome
Host: Redoubt North Primary School
Organiser: Ms Lianna McCartney
Cost: $50 per school
Events: Patterns, Special Technique and Power Breaking

Three Schools competed in the Inaugural Inter-School Taekwon-Do Champs: Redoubt North School, Mangere Central School and Flat Bush School. It was a great success with all the kids gaining an insight into tournament type training and competition.

This competition is open to primary schools in the Counties Manukau Region that have received a KiwiSport Taekwon-Do Course. 8 children (4 boys and 4 girls) from 6 schools can be selected to compete. Awards will be given for the best girl and boy in each event and certificates of participation presented to each child.


Patterns: The children will perform one pattern in from of qualified judges. Play offs until winners are determined.
Power Side kick: Play offs until winners are determined.
Special Technique: Flying high kick. Play offs until winners are determined.
