A brand new national event, all about participation, camaraderie and training hard! Everyone can get involved from wherever they are in the country, because the event happens at YOUR club!
The TKD500 is an event for teams of four, held on your club night, at your club location. In 2024 the event week is 16-21 September.
Teams of four compete to complete 500 repetitions of three techniques as a team, trying to get the fastest time.
The techniques are:
Only one person in the team of four can be performing a technique at any one time, and the rest circulate pad holding, recording and rest.
There are technical standards for each of these techniques that must be met to be counted, and an event standard for running the event at your club.
How do you win?
You will need to work with your team strategically to try and complete the exercises in the quickest time. But beware – only techniques performed correctly can be counted!
Touch contact and sloppy technique won’t be counted – this is still Taekwon-Do, where we have fun but we work hard!
Optional: run it as a charity event Clubs can choose a local charity to raise funds or goods for as an entry fee if they wish to. |
Rank/age requirements
There are no formal rank or age restrictions, but as techniques must be performed to the event standards, it is recommended for colour belts and black belts.
