A very successful Regional Tournament was held by Counties
With 112 entrants from 13 clubs, competition kicked off at 9.15 with
patterns, which finished bang on schedule at 10.45. Sparring and
destructions were done by 3.30, Trophies presented by not one but two
Masters, then cleaned up and doors closed by 4.15.
The new venue was amazing - enormous - well lit, good facilities, really
cooperative management, great officials lunch provided by the resident
caterers - only downside was ashpalt floor(it *is* a netball stadium).
Then we are told it will have a wood floor by the time of next year's
Nationals. !! (and it will be even bigger in a few years). 8 rings would
fit easily in the current floorspace.
A big thank you to all those who officiated, and to
Dragons Spirit and friends who setup on Saturday and pulled down on
It was great to have old friends and legends from
ITFNZ history Master Rocky and Mrs Trish Rounthwaite visiting - and
putting in a full day officiating!
