Trials - 22-23 Match 2025
The weekend just been was the final trials weekend for the New Zealand Team, which will be heading to the World Championships in Croatia in October.
Saturday was a huge day for all those trialing, we started at 9:30 but didn’t finish until 8pm. During that time the coaches covered patterns, sparring and power. It was great seeing everyone support each other till the end of the day. We must also show our appreciation to the parents who patiently had to wait for the day to come to an end.
Sunday started at 8:30 sharp with special, and the support from everyone was still strong, especially when the call backs were happening. At the end of the day it was awesome to see all the athletes bond over some fun games as well before the final bow out.
It was a big weekend, we hope everyone got home safely and we look forward to working with those selected, and hope those who miss this time are motivated to keep training so we can see them again in the future.

We are requesting expressions of interest for competitors for the New Zealand team for the 2025 ITF World Championships to be held in Porec, Croatia, from the 7 to 12 October 2025.
If interested in trialing for the New Zealand team, please fill in the Survey form, link below, to provide your details.
The team is open to all Pre-junior, Junior, and Senior black belts. Note that 1st Gup athletes who are preparing to grade to 1st Dan prior to the tournament would also be considered.
There will be two camps in Wellington and Auckland, and then a camp in Wellington in March which will be the formal trials.
18/19 January 2025, Wellington
15/16 February 2025, Auckland
22/23 March 2025, Wellington (Trials)
The team is expected to be named shortly after the March trials.
The training camps leading into the tournament have been booked and are as follows;

14/15 June 2025, Auckland
12/13 July 2025, Wellington
9/10 August 2025, Auckland
